jack The giant slayer RATED PG-13
Reviewed by elise
Jack the Giant Slayer somewhat follows in the footsteps of the original fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk. It starts out showing Jack as a young boy hearing a story of giants coming down a beanstalk and destroying the kingdom. Then, the story switches to where Jack is grown up and living with his Uncle. He heads to the market inside the castle gates looking to sell a wagon and horse. He ends up in a tough situation where he trades the horse to a monk who is on the run because people are after the magical beans. The monk takes the horse and gives the beans to Jack and gives him careful instructions...don’t get the beans wet. He is told to bring the beans to the Monk Temple and will be rewarded with a fortune of gold. Jack becomes careless with the beans and one falls through a crack in the floor during a thunderstorm. Long story short, the beans get wet. I think this is a good movie for kids 11+, basically for the graphic violence. I think this is a great version of Jack and the Beanstalk. It has a little twist to the children’s fairy tale. I would rate this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you enjoy energetic, action-filled movies - I would go see this one. It contains some graphic violence and some scary images for younger children. My opinion is that they did a wonderful job on the movie and the graphics. The Giants’ faces are exactly what I imagined and are truly horrific. I hope this review was helpful and interested you in seeing this movie. Thanks for reading!
Anthem lights
by eli
Anthem lights is a four piece-pop group. At first they worked under the name Yellow Cavalier in their first album and later switched the name to Anthem Lights. They sing songs like “Just the way You Are,” “As Long as You Love Me,” “What Makes You Beautiful,” “ We Are Never Getting Back Together,” and “Give Your Heart a Break” made by different artists and sing them remixed. They also sing their own songs like “Can’t Shut Up,” or “Out of My Mind.” Members of the group are Alan Powell, Caleb Grimm, Chad Graham, and their newest member, Joey Stamper. Their acoustic sessions used to be with a guitar but their newest member, Joey Stamper, plays piano for their songs.
Last winter, Anthem Lights released a mashup of the best songs for 2012 into one song. That song included “Call Me Maybe,” “Payphone,” “Wide Awake,” "We Are Young,"and “Starships.” This is a very fun group to listen to.

Genius a Photobiography of Albert Einstein
By Dalton
This book has excellent facts about Albert Einstein. He was an amazing scientist born in southern Germany. In 1999 Time Magazine voted him person of the century. It isn't a very long book but it takes awhile to read because it's for upper grade level readers. In the beginning it tells about him and his life. It is a seventh grade book, but it is really helpful if you're planning on doing a biography on him. If you are interested in Albert Einstein I highly recommend that you check out this book. I really liked this book, I would give it 7 out of 10 stars. He was an awesome physicist. Today he is still known for being one of the smartest people on earth. He is one of the most admirable people to ever live.

Joey Pigza Loses Control
By Rakelle
Joey Pigza Loses Control is about a young boy with mental problems who goes to visit his dad. His dad left him and his mom shortly after Joey was born. Joey’s mother hates his father, and like Joey, he has a mental problem.
When Joey arrived at his dad’s house, his father recommended that Joey join the baseball team. At practice, Joey realizes that maybe he has a golden arm. Joey finds it a bit weird when his dad consults Humpty Dumpty at Storybook Land for advice.
Everything was perfect until Joey started to see his dad’s real side. Claiming that Joey needs to be a "real man", the crazy dad flushes Joey’s medication down the toilet. Then he tells Joey not to tell his mom. His father is an alcoholic and Joey is ordered not to tell his mother about this.
Still trying to convince himself that his dad is a good man, Joey puts up with him. At least until the baseball championship.
I love this book! I would recommend it to anyone in the grades of 4, 5, and probably 6. It is very inspirational and you really feel for Joey. He occasionally does questionable thing. This book is part of a series that I recommend you start from the beginning. Joey Pigza Swallowed The Key is the first book in the series.

The youtube super starz
by zach
Ian Hecox is the most awesome man I’ve seen in my life. He has made some of the best videos on youtube. Videos like Cute Furry Kittens, Boxman 2.0, and Smosh Food Battles. Ian Hecox was born in Carmichael, California on November 30, 1987. He enjoys pink frosted sprinkled doughnuts, his mom, and The Spice Girls.
Ian hates Justin Bieber, Siri, and barber shop poles.
Anthony Padilla is Ian's best friend and partner in creating videos. He was born on September 16, 1987 in Carmichael, California also. Anthony likes Toy Story, burritos, Rainbow Lollipops, water, and milkshakes. Anthony hates pink frosted sprinkled doughnuts, sandpaper that's used as toilet paper, and the pink mustache on Ian's car.
Ian and Anthony are the second most successful channel on youtube. They also sing songs and have their own album that has hits like "Milky Milkshake", "Boxman 2.0", and best of all "Cute Furry Kittens." Their very first video has had more than 24 million hits. It was made in 2005. It was a parody of Pokemon. As you can see Smosh is the best youtube channel in the world. If you do not like it well, OK. Please like it.
